The park encompasses over 1 million acres, with 300 lakes (130 of which are definitively named), more than 1,100 different species of vascular plants, 400 species of moss and hundreds of species of animals. Nowhere on the North American continent are the prairies of the Great Plains so proximal to the temperate rain forests of the Pacific Northwest.  In 1932, Glacier National Park and it&#8217;s National park neighbor to the north in Canada were designated as the world&#8217;s first International Peace Park.</p>

Places to Stay at Glacier National Park</strong></p>
<p>Glacier National Park has a number of RV campgrounds sprinkled throughout the park, with the biggest being Apgar (first-come, first-served), Fish Creek and St. Mary (877-444-6777 for reservations).   Probably the best bet is to decide what part of the park you are wanting to go to and then book the campground that’s the most convenient.
